#Shark Attacks# ^w^ Of the 100 shark attacks recorded each year in the International Shark Attack Files, less than 30 are fatal. ^w^ Fatalities usually result from loss of blood, not from being eaten. ^w^ Survivors of shark attacks are those who stay calm and get help immediately. ^w^ `Bump and bite attacks` occur when the shark bumps the victim, circles, and returns to attack. The sharks will often return and attack again. ^w^ In a `sneak attack`, the shark strikes without warning. In this instance, the shark may or may not come back. ^w^ When an attack occurs, the shark will generally strike only one person and return again to the same target, ignoring other swimmers.
